Hello everyone.

I'm new to makemkv and the forum.

I have just one question regarding beta and permanent makemkv keys.
Why was one person responsible for creating these keys, why weren't other people given the authority to create keys in there absence.

There should always some sort of redundancy in place for what is in this thread.

I also hope Mike is fine.

As I said elsewhere: This sort of thing isn't all that unusual for software primarily developed by a single person, especially when that software is available free or mostly free. It's ideal if you have a backup person, but that requires some combination of money, project management skills, and social networking that is not available or simply not interesting to a lot of developers. A lot of us really don't want to do anything except write code.

Not to mention it requires a level of trust. Any time you give someone access to generate or manage license keys - much like any other product inventory, physical or otherwise - you're trusting that said person won't abuse that privilege by either handing them out for free, scalping them, holding them hostage, etc.
