Use a Windows PC or VMware. You seem to be on Linux and that is the issue.
No I use a M1 Max MacBook Pro running Windows 11 with Parallels.
Try to get help from a friend with a Windows PC. Did you make sure no disc in drive and tray is closed? It usually works with Parallels.

Yes, the tray was empty and closed. I'll try VMware or connecting it to my Synology NAS with forwadding the usb port to a VM on the NAS.

Making it complicated doesn't help. VMWare or pure Windows will work.

In my case it helped. The weird way using VM on my NAS was the only way it worked for me. Thank you very much!

Possible with this one? Currently shows "no disc inserted" if a 4K disc is in it. With a BD in it, here's the info:

Today I got my first two 4K Blu Ray Movies to try it. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I cross flashed my drive following your tutorial and flashing process seemed to work fine. But 4K Movies can't be played or ripped. Do you know another solution?

There is a beta key. Apply it an post your current info. I suspect that flashing hasn‘t worked with your special setup. You could have also checked with the flasher afterwards. But some people just don‘t follow the tutorial.
