Dark City UHD

#1 Post by crzero » Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:31 pm

Just got my copy of Dark City UHD and wanted to get it onto my plex server, only to get a ton of errors
that all look like this:

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..0020..03F to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom3'

I do have the latest version of MakeMKV, registered, running in Windows 11. Drive is an LG BD-RE BP60NB10
AACS dump file is attached. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What does MakeMKV say about your drive? It seems like maybe your drive isn't flashed for LibreDrive.

These errors usually mean that your drive has failed to enable LibreDrive. If your UHD drive doesn't support LibreDrive yet then you will need to flash its firmware before MakeMKV will work. Check MakeMKV's "Info" window for more information.

It says this:

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible (with patched firmware)
Drive platform: MT1959
Harware support: Yes
Firmware support: No
Firmware type: Original (patched version available)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw data read: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw metadata read: Possible (with patched firmware)
Unrestricted read speed: Possible (with patched firmware)

However, when I try to run sdftool with the firmware DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.02-MK.bin, it just immediately errors with "Command produced error code 0xff05c103"

Ensure there is no disc in the drive and the tray is closed.
Cheers :D

Wow, that was it. Thank you for your help, I really wish that error message was more descriptive.
