Yeah I think the latest beta key was supposed to finish on 31 jan 2024, per the post, but it actually finished on 1 jan 2024.

I've been copying my movie and series collection for the past two months. I'm down to my last dvd series and now the beta key is expired and payment is down. I was just going to buy but it appears the program is not being maintained...Will my money be wasted if I buy and the programmer stops updating?

"No longer maintained" doesn't seem like a warranted conclusion at this point. It's probably more a case of "The sole maintainer has been overcome by events for a few days." At least one payment processor is no longer allowing purchases until the current blockage is resolved, so you probably cannot buy MakeMKV right now regardless. I advise waiting a few days to a week and seeing what news we get.
