Need help with firmare updates on two UHD capable drives

Ive been out of it for a bit been quite crook, haven't been able to respond to mail from here but now I'm back - I have two drives that I need the firmware and order of operations for to upgrade them to being able to handle UHDs They are:

External LG BP50NB40
SVC Code NB52 Rom Ver 1.03

Internal ASUS BH16NS55
SVC Code NS55 Rom V1.05

The ASUS will be external after updating.

Can some one point me to the right place that shows everything in order and doesn't look like a state diagram.

The BH16NS55 just flash directly to WH16NS60 1.02MK.

The BP50NB40 with NB52 needs a few more moves: " ..... NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143 if using command line add "full" after rawflash"

No, don't use that old HBD firmware. Just use SDFTool flasher viewtopic.php?p=94848#p94848. The simple steps for the NB52 are also there.

That's perfect, took me a little bit to get used to the flasher but I sorted it and my LH is quite happily ripping 4k at 6X now, I have lots of these as I have lots of PCs so I will convert the other 6 later and then move onto the two ASUS drives.

One other query does making your drives U.H.D capable slow them down for regular BR disks? I ask as I have seen my drives hit as high as 6x Read but at the moment I seem to be topping out at 3.8x

Hi me again sorry about this but I have the ASUS BH16NS55 ready to flash it has rom ver 1.05 and svc code NS55 written on the top I tried to flash DE_LG_BH16NS55_1.02.bin on to it and got an error.

Am I missing some magic sauce to make it work??

The LG BH16NS55 should be flashed to WH16NS60 1.02-MK. This is the recommended firmware but if you use other UHD ripping software such as DVDFab, then you can now flash the drive to either WH16NS60 1.00 or BH16NS55 1.02, although the former is quicker and "UHD official" drive firmware removes the sleep bug that affects "UHD friendly" drive firmware.

No, it shouldn't have any affect. The speeds seen really depends on the disc being read.
