Ocean's 11

Post by HSamwel »

MakeMKV failed to decrypt Ocean's 11, nordic release.

Seems I can't attach a dump. Board attachment quota has been reached?!

Edit: Saw that the dump should be emailed. Did so.

I just tried my copy and it worked, have you tried using keydb?

I have keydb installed.
But I can't see if it is being used. Installed it in the /.MakeMKV folder so it
should be used automatically I guess?!

I will try to clean the surface and try again. It is a completely new disc so it could be
a thin layer of dust. But usually MakeMKV reports if it can't read the disc.

This was not the same error. I got error messages that it couldn't decrypt and created a dump.

If MakeMKV creates a dump then it's probably because it cannot decrypt the disk. Could you make your TGZ dump file available here please, e.g. by uploading it into (say) OneDrive or Google Drive, and then providing a public download link? This will allow people at least to try adding your disk to the KEYDB.cfg file.

And also email your dump file to svq@makemkv.com, of course.

Wow! Fixed already?
I did two things. I downloaded a new version of keydb.cfg and also renamed it to KEYDB.cfg.

Don’t know which fixed it but now the Ocean’s Eleven disc works fine. :D

If anything was done, thanks to those involved.

You need to use the synchronize option of FindVUK. It updates the .cfg file and you don't have to download the whole file again.

Thanks. Yeah I saw that. I will try to set that up later.
For now I download it manually.

If you're on Windows my tool will set up FindVUK and automate copying the keydb.cfg to the correct location for MakeMKV.

One of the nice things about SamuriHL's utility is that it also allows you to validate a disk's entry in KEYDB.cfg against the disk itself :).

Thanks @SamuriHL. I installed and tested it. Worked as expected. Great program, very useful.
A suggestion would be to put some ”help text” that tell what each button does.
If you hold the mouse pointer above the button a small text box could appear and explain.

Having a small app running in the background downloading and installing the keydb.cfg
automatically would be really nice. Say once a day, or if the computer has been off directly
at start up.
Even better, from inside MakeMKV. Check for a new version at start. Then downloading and
installing in the background.

Although, until now, with more than 50 discs ripped I have only had one fail to decrypt.
That one was fixed in less than a day. 8)

I'll see about adding tool tips next time I'm in the code.
