Looking for 4K Blu-ray Drive (UK)

Post by RipRookie »

Hi all,

I’m new here and just getting started with UHD ripping to back up my blu ray collection. I’m based in the UK and looking for a reliable 4K Blu-ray drive that works out of the box (ideally no flashing needed) but I would consider it if it’s straightforward and gets me up and running faster or at a lower cost.

I’ve contacted asmcom but they’re closed for two weeks, so I’m exploring other options in the meantime.

Ideally, I’d like a Pioneer drive with pre-Dec 2022 firmware to avoid the UHD ripping block. I’ve also heard that the Hitachi-LG BU40N might be a good (and cheaper) alternative, but I’m not sure how it compares or what to look out for.

Any advice, recommendations, or trusted UK sellers would be massively appreciated!

Cheers,

I only see a few in the US. Amazon.com and Newegg. They might be sold out already. Check for 212v Vinpower. If you have it post here.
