Ripping 'A Discovery of Witches' Bluray Boxset

Post by kncowans »

Hello all

I Hope you are Well.

I have just Ripped my First TV Show from Bluray, the Bluray Boxset of 'A Discovery of Witches'.

Everything is done and seems to be working, I am just curious if there is a better way than what I have done.

I Ripped the Individual Episodes, there were 3 or 4 per Disk depending on the Season, 7 Disks in all.

The issue I came across is that the Filenames had absolutely no connection with the Episodes.

I know this TV Show so I used VLC and the Wiki Page for the Show and then Renamed the Episodes accordingly, i.e. 'A Discovery of Witches - s01e01'.

As I mentioned, this is the First TV Show that I have Ripped and, honestly, I am not looking forward to doing more.

Can anyone tell me if there is a better way of Ripping TV Shows from Bluray that I may be unaware of?

I have MakeMKV, obviously, MKVToolnix and FileBot and the end game is Plex.

Thanks in advance

Ripping TV Shows is always a lot of work. I have a fondness for shows that put the episode title at the beginning of the episode, since that makes life easier.

Not always, but often, DVDCompare.net has exact lengths for each episode, which can make things easier.

Hello

Thanks for the Reply.

There is also a larger option on the Discs, approximately 38GB which holds all of the Episodes on the Disk.

I Ripped this and then used MKVToolnix to Split the File Before Chapters which seems to work much better, also the resulting Files are Named 01, 02 etc. which makes knowing which File is which Episode much more straightforward.

I just need to figure out which Chapters I need to Split at which should be easy enough, Famous Last Words.

Thanks

Kevin
