Pioneer BDR-S13U-S
Pioneer BDR-S13U-S
Just bought this drive on Facebook Marketplace. Firmware is 1.04. Is there a flasher or way to downgrade that anyone can assist with? Is MakeMKV support for firmware 1.04 close?

No and no. Mike has been working on support for 2+ years now with no updates. Not looking good. Even more unlikely now that Pioneer are no longer manufacturing optical drives.
It will work fine for DVD/BD though. Just not UHD compatible.
Cheers

Yeah... Funny that! Make a statement after 2+ years of next to nothing then Mike makes this announcement! lol.

Something to look forward too! Shame Pioneer drives are almost extinct now...
Cheers

I'm still seeing a few such drives for sale on Amazon...MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 12:07 amSomething to look forward too! Shame Pioneer drives are almost extinct now...
However, I already have two ">= 2022-12" drives which may now dream of reading UHD disks
