Calibration is not easy. I'm still a novice and I've been doing it since the C8. What I will say is that if you don't have anyone that can do it locally it might be worth investing in the equipment to do it. Not like my guy who didn't even look at the shadow detail in DoVi and just did an autocal which made things worse.
I mean this thread is about getting the highest quality you can out of your rips. Not having a properly calibrated display negates a lot of that effort IMO.
