Attaching these so they can be added to the keydb.
I also emailed these to svq@makemkv.com last week.

Thank you for the disc dumps. These titles have been added to the public keydb. If you could provide disc dumps from LG/Asus drives in the future it would be appreciated as support for Pioneer disc dumps is limited.agentbrowder wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 5:54 amAttaching these so they can be added to the keydb.

Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Have you tried downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?
Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Yeah, I did pretty much at the same time as when I made my post but didn't have any luck after doing so either. Appreciate the suggestion though!
Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
At least two of those titles look familiar to me, and so I would definitely expect the latest KEYDB.cfg file to provide at least some help...

Can you provide these dumps, either as attachments or as download links please?
Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Sure thing! Attached them to this post.
Edit: I've gone back and deleted the files as they are already in the KEYDB and my issue ended up being firmware version related rather than dumps being needed.

Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Hmm, I had followed the steps in the first link.
I'm on Linux, so I extracted keydb.cfg to the data directory (/home/<My Username>/.MakeMKV/) and renamed it to KEYDB.cfg. I attempted rebooting my whole machine in case MakeMKV wasn't actually restarting when I closed and re-opened the GUI and I'm still hitting issues. Might be user error or something, I'll keep looking into it and update with any findings. I'll also re-download the keydb in case it didn't actually download properly or I somehow got an out of date version of the file or anything.

Coying KEYDB.cfg into /home/<username>/.MakeMKV/ should be all you need to do, unless your KEYDB.cfg file cannot be read for some reason? E.g. owned by another user, say root?gwenter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 2:20 pmI'm on Linux, so I extracted keydb.cfg to the data directory (/home/<My Username>/.MakeMKV/) and renamed it to KEYDB.cfg. Or maybe a typo, such as KEYDB.cgf or KEYBD.cfg instead of KEYDB.cfg?
Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Not as far as I can tell. It was owned by my regular non-root user, I gave everybody read/write on it just in case but no change. Prior to that I re-downloaded the archive and did a diff and it looks like there were additional films added between my two download times, but none of the ones I'm trying so that shouldn't have made any impact (I did use the new download just in case). The following is the output of me doing an ls -l on the data directory, I saved the diff between the two versions of the keydb to a text file too but figure I won't upload it unless it's asked for as I don't expect it to be of much use:MrPenguin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 2:24 pmCoying KEYDB.cfg into /home/<username>/.MakeMKV/ should be all you need to do, unless your KEYDB.cfg file cannot be read for some reason? Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
Silly question, but are you sure that your UHD drive supports LibreDrive? Or that LibreDrive has been successfully enabled? One of your log files is full of suspicious-looking messages like:
Code: Select all
002004:0000 Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..0020..03F to device 'SG:dev_21:0'
...
003306:0000 Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Without LibreDrive, MakeMKV cannot disable the drive's built-in bus-encryption...
Re: Dumps submitted for ZAZ the collection - 3 movies
I was also wondering if something got messed up with my firmware somehow, but I don't know how that could have happened. I flashed it myself and had been successful with UHDs previously, but it's been a couple months since I used it. I was looking around to see if I could find anybody with a similar issue where they'd somehow messed it up but couldn't find anything that seemed to match. I did see some people encountering errors due to power issues with USB drives (which mine is), but I've tried a few different USB ports both with the Y-end USB-A cable and the single-end USB-C cable and no luck (I'd been using USB-C previously when it was succeeding).MrPenguin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 7:38 pmWhat does MakeMKV's "Info" window say about LibreDrive? Did you flash its firmware yourself, or buy it "pre-flashed" from a reseller? As a rule, a BU40N should be able to support LibreDrive, but maybe not "out of the box".
