Verbatim Ultra HD USB-C 4K External Slimline Blu-ray Writer or Pioneer BDRXS07TUHD

Post by sjaeger172004 »

Hi all

I’m in Australia and new.

Well wanting to rip my Blu ray and DvD collection (have some from from different regions)

Thinking of grabbing Verbatim Ultra HD USB-C 4K External Slimline Blu-ray Writer from MWave as I have store credit there (prob has the LG Drive).

How hard is it to flash and how hard to brick the drive as first timer.

Or should I get the Pioneer BDRXS07TUHD?

Thanks

For BD and DVD, either drive will do fine.

Yes, if the Verbatim contains the LG drive, it is easy to flash. Mind you, it doesn't need to be flashed for BD/DVD. It only requires flashing if you want to enable libredrive and be able to rip UHD discs.

If you are interested (or maybe interested) in UHD at all, the Pioneer BDRXS07TUHD is not compatible with UHD ripping.
Cheers :D
