A friend from school told me to purchase the "Digital Pioneer BDR-212V".

He gave me software to flash the drive but I think he gave me the wrong firmware version because I see "No disc inserted" with UHD discs.

Amazon order from, RunTechMedia, Digital Pioneer BDR-212V.

Is someone able to share the correct firmware/software flash details with me? Thank you.

Currently, MKV shows me the following details:

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S12U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: DCDL0*****WL
Firmware date: 2022-03-07
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8F01
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-212T
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.02/ID43
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted

I don't see anything wrong. It should work. Let the OS read in the UHD and then start Makemkv. What does it say?

Thank you for responding.

I insert my UHD disk and I hear the drive spinning. The OS never reads my disc and File Explorer and says I need to insert a disc. I see the same in MakeMKV , "No disc inserted".

I know the UHD disc is normal and works with my friend's external Pioneer drive from Billycar. But when we use my BDR-212V , we do not get the same results.

The exact amazon model I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R89FN61

Would you mind sharing the firmware/software that should have been used with the BDR-212V model I ordered so I can retry?

Thank you - I followed the instructions. After removing my power source and powering back on, same result.

I tried reading a disc without MakeMKV opened and File Explorer never reads the disc.

I tried with MakeMKV and see "Disc is being loaded" and then "No disc inserted".

Do you have any further suggestions for me? Thanks again.

Your drive is defective. I'll send you the stock firmware. Flash it and return it. Ask for a new one.
