Apparently LG BU40N drives are increasingly being installed in the Verbatim 43888 drive, so the fundamental question is whether it would be better to buy a Verbatim 43890 and then flash it to Pioneer UD04, since you would also have to flash a 43888 with an LG drive to make it UHD compatible. In addition, the price in Germany is currently a bit cheaper for the 43890 at €80 vs €90 for the 43888.
That's what I recommended to a friend so he went for the 43890
