Thank you I am glad we could get this working
I’d rather use this drive that is basically silent
it’s ripping at 4x speed and not even a sound is it making

You are very welcome! You have now one of the best drives. The 13s look nicer but don't perform better and are much more expensive.

Yes, I was also looking at the pioneer external ones and they are expensive and the only feature I could see that I gained was a feature to read scratched discs better

Thank you ☺️ if you every need someone to recommend or vouch I can highly recommend you

We tested the 11 vs 12 vs 13 drives and couldn't see any advantages of the newer drives regarding ripping or burning. This market is steeply declining and Pioneer comes up with a lot of yaddayadda and raises prices. Don't believe what you read unless it's proven.

I’m sticking with this Asus drive, the lg 4k drive I have takes 5 mins to load a 4k disk to even show it as visible and it’s slow and loud, the Asus I put a movie in and instantly it pops up in windows ready to read and it’s so silent. Mine is from 2020 and yeah to guess they don’t make them like they used to, I might pick up a second one used as a backup and sell in LG. The lg has had many coasters when writing blank media and it’s loud and obnoxious.

Asus doesn't actually make their own drives. Your ASUS BW-16D1X-U from 2020 contains a Pioneer made drive inside it (according to your MakeMKV drive info posted earlier). Lots of current ASUS drives contain LG made drives.

You are certainly correct in your assessment that they don't make them like they used to.
