My LG has done over 400 blu-ray rips, but now MKV says 'no-disc' when I put a bluray in, and Windows 11 won't recognize the bluray either. It still reads DVDs fine though.
Does this mean game over and the bluray laser must have died? Or anything worth trying before I replace? I did try cleaning it with one of those discs with brushes on (just because they don't cost much so I thought it worth a try).

Most likely dead laser. My first drive died after a year.hamlet101 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:04 pmMy LG has done over 400 blu-ray rips, but now MKV says 'no-disc' when I put a bluray in, and Windows 11 won't recognize the bluray either. It still reads DVDs fine though.

You can try opening the drive (disconnect any cable before) and clean the laser with q-tip and alcohol. Dry immediately with a lint-free soft cloth or dry q-tip. Do it twice.
If the drive doesn't read BD after this you can assume that the laser is dead.
