So you’re saying that you can just place a 4K movie disc in your disc tray and play it? No need to rip (removing copy protection) via MakeMKV to an .mkv file, that you then play back via playback software like VLC or PowerDVD?MartyMcNuts wrote:Direct playback can be done using a UHD official or friendly drive connected to any decent spec PC via MakeMKV and an unofficial player such as VLC etc once integtrated. None of this SGX crap required.
4K Blu ray discs, while region free (unlike HD Blu rays), are also copy protected and will not play, unless you have an SGX capable processor/machine to decrypt it. If you have a way around that, please explain in detail? I’m sure everyone on this forum would like to know why you consider this forum pointless? Because if what you are saying is true, none of us need to be here, or buy friendly drives.
I, for one, have an intel based machine that ticks every box, including SGX, Windows 10 and a 4K friendly drive and I’m still resolving issues.
