Queer as Folk TV Series DVD not even recognized by my Drive
Queer as Folk TV Series DVD not even recognized by my Drive
I've been ripping hundreds of DVDs with MakeMKV and I've never had this issue before. I put the Queer as Folk Series 1 Disc 1 DVD (in mint condition) into my Pioneer BDR-212EBK drive and not only does neither MakeMKV or AnyDVD recognize that there's a disc in the drive but Windows also doesn't show that there's a disc in the drive. How can I rip the disc? Would buying a flashed drive allow the drive to see the disc?

Gently cleaning the disc is probably the right path forward. I don't think changing the firmware on the drive will make a difference.
A second drive might help too. In my experience, some discs just don't like some drives. I have 4 different drives sitting on my desk and almost always one of them will work. Not always though; occasionally I end up with a disc that won't read and I have to replace the disc.
