In Marty's link in his last post you'll find a further link to the modified ASUS flasher.

Edit: Oh, sorry, you've found it before. I've overseen that .... :?

Thank you. I found it. However, it did not work.
There are quite a couple of reasons why this doesn't work.

Drive not empty and/or tray not closed.
Third party SATA controller. Attach to mainboard SATA controller.
Some AMD SATA controllers can make trouble or when SATA is configured as RAID.
If AMD, try to connect the drive to an Intel board and to the mainboard SATA controller.
Last resort: Buy a BENFEI USB->SATA controller with power supply (<$20) and try that.

Always shut down the PC after flashing and wait a minute before powering up again.

Hello, my drive is a BU40N and I'm having the same error code : 0x82052400
I've made sure that tray is closed, and no disc are inside

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.05
Firmware date: 2124-04-23 13:47
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 77

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959

So when flashing with SDF (v1.3.6), I've used these 3 files : DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin | DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin | DE_flash_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_WH16NS40_1.02_NS50.bin
However, none worked, I've tried opening and closing, restarting, going to 1.3.5 version of sdf, nothing seems to fix it

Also the date you see on the "firmware date" is not a typo from my part, it is really written "2124"

What could be the issue? Should I send my drive back?
Thanks!

I used DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin (with Enc ticked) only two days ago without any issue.
