Hello, longtime lurker, first time poster ;) I also saved one of these drives from a machine which was being WEEEd - MFD is June 2015 so I presume it'll still be on the original FW (S/N begins 0FDL017). I presume this will also need a firmware patch?

Also if there are tools for dumping FW for these models of drives, would anyone have any use for this drive's original FW? If so, happy to donate.

Sorry, was trying to avoid spamming the thread - see below (with a random BD inserted for testing). Playback is fine in MPC-HC/VLC using Passkey, I've not been able to test rip in MakeMKV yet as it's showing an error about the evaluation period having expired.

Disc Information
Label: MICMACS
Timestamp: 2010-05-11 16:10:18
Protection: AACS v17
Data capacity: 19.91 Gb
Disc type: BD-ROM

Channel bit length: 74,5 nm (25.0 GB max. per layer)
I've also recently unearthed a BDR-XD07TUHD (toploader USB3 drive) which purports to be UHD compatible but I've not had the means to test that yet.

Appreciate it! Checked out the PM, process worked flawlessly and the UHD discs seem to be readable now. Amazing how effortless it was.

An interesting side-effect appears to be that something's happened to DVDFab Passkey, which I would sometimes use for playing back BDs on the machine through MPC-HC (bitstreaming the audio and HDR signal via MadVR). It previously worked fine, but now it seems to consistently crash while trying to initialise. Is this just a side-effect of the process or would you expect Passkey to still work?
