Pioneer BDR-XS07U FIrmware?

Post by blutuna »

Hello,
I came across this drive while looking for something else (not sure when/where I got it) and wondering what firmware would be best to use for it?
I ripped about a dozen of my 4Ks with it no problem, then it choked on 2 in a row, wouldn't open them.

Clean UHD discs with liquid soap and warm water. The dry with a paper towel and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Try again.

Hi, thx for the reply!
I've cleaned it several times now (Infinity War), can see nothing on the disc, no foreign matter, smudges etc.
Stops about halfway through.
The second one that it wouldn't read worked in my LG drive.
The LG drive won't read this disc either.

The firmware is not the issue. Don't ever change it!!!

The discs are the problem. Clean them before trying again.
Cheers :D

Ah, ok. I was wondering if it was a firmware issue. Thx for the reply!

This should work. Newer ones won't as they have encrypted firmware. Sounds like a power issue. Use a high powered USB port or an USB hub with a power supply. But the newest firmware I have is 1.01 that works for UHD. Maybe 1.02 is already encrypted. We assumed until now that only newer than Dec. 2022 will not work anymore.

1.02 is fine and is already enabled. Don't touch the firmware. You have other issues.

As coop said, try a more powerful USB port. Geez I hate those slot load drive's. Bloody terrible things they are!
Cheers :D
