In the options the internet connection is active and I downloaded the new keydb.cfg and copied it to the .MakeMKV folder.
How can I solve? I I attach 3 .tgz file.
Thanks for the support.
You could also download the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copy it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restart MakeMKV. I believe all of these disks have complete entries in KEYDB, although you should obviously still email your TGZ dump files to svq@makemkv.com as wellmarkofwolves wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 11:55 amHello. I just bought the new Universal Classic Monsters 4K ultra HD box with 8 movies. Only one works (Creature from the Black Lagoon) for all the others I have this error: The volume key is unknown
Hmm, that doesn't sound right... Are you using MacOS or Linux? Because in that case, the file name must literally be KEYDB.cfg rather than keydb.cfg, because the file systems are case-sensitive for these OSs.
I' m using windows 11 and I downloaded the cfg in English version from here: http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/
Yes, I suspect someone managed to extract the Volume ID (VID) metadata from your three TGZ dump file attachments, and then used them to calculate your disks' VUKs. AFAICT all three of those disks now have VUKs in KEYDB, which means that MakeMKV should now be able to decrypt them.markofwolves wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 10:03 pmIs it possible that the latest cfg was updated with the keys from these new disks?
All 4 of those discs have now been added to the public keydb (not by me).Woodstock wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 1:40 amI removed the attached files, and left just the file names. If you want the author to do anything about the TGZs, you'll have to email them to svq@makemkv.com or they'll sit until he comes back to the forum... Emailing them speeds the process.
Yes, I was about to write it now. If you think about it, it didn't take long, also because the files have been removed.keydb_helper wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 2:02 amAll 4 of those discs have now been added to the public keydb (not by me).Woodstock wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 1:40 amI removed the attached files, and left just the file names. Whilst I always recommend emailing disc dumps to the SVQ address, allowing dumps to be included as forum attachments can really speed up the process. Particularly when, as MrPenguin noted, the media key for a disc is already present in the keydb and the VUK can be readily calculated.
