Save directories

Post by jonno421 »

When I rip a Blu-Ray, it seems to detect the disk and what season/disk it is. But it does not auto save to any folder, just the "output folder" and it's what's generically set. So without intervention, it will overwrite. Is there a setting to prevent this? Have it detect that it's a specific show, go to the folder, season, and disk? Under the properties tab after it reads the disk, it knows the disk name, which is usually the title, and if a series, season and disk. Also, it would be fantastic to have an auto label. Most of the shows I've ripped, the episodes aren't in order, starting at title_03 and jumping around, etc.

What do you have set up in your Preferences->Video tab for "Default directory"? That is the one setting that will affect what you are asking about as far as "where to save".

But as far as selecting names for files, that's generically up to the disk author, although you can affect it by changing the first entry in the list.

I changed it to semi-auto, and that kinda did the trick. I can rip multiple discs in a series without fear of overwriting, but it will save it in a "generic" folder. Which, for all intents and purposes, solves my issue, but I was hoping for a fix that would be more 'smart' about it, and save a series in it's own folder. But, for a piece of software that's essentially free, I can't ask miracles. I did pay, because I've found it invaluable in use, but used it for a while as "free" with an occasional license update. Kudos to the authors for that. Thank you Woodstock
