If you're talking about the Verbatim 43888 drive, then it can be bought lots of places online.
It doesn't need and flashing, works out of the box and is cheap (like 120€).
But I read it gets the "Volume ID" wrong, because LibreDrive doesn't fully work on it.
So the Verbatim 43888 can't be used for dumping log of an unsupported disc for mike to add support for.

At least this is my understanding, someone correct me if I'm wrong

I've been looking for a reliable UHD drive for ripping 4k movies but unfortunately in the UK I can't seem to find many drives myself, I settled on a Verbatim but I'm still looking for a full size internal drive, what would be the best for my requirements? Thanks.

Want to join the UHD journey and need a external USB3 drive for Windows with the abbility also to rip classical audio discs. Which Pioneer drive should I choose? (Had an Pioneer in the early days; happy with Plextor PX-LB950SA blu-ray drive for years now)

Would it be possible myself to flash the drive in the meantime til Asmcom recover?

I bought an LG-BU40N from asmcom (get well soon) in June 2019 and it's been OK until very recently.

Now however it isn't recognised by the PC I plug it into. I tried four different PCs, two win10, one win11 and one Linux Mint.

If anyone has seen these symptoms before and know of a fix I would be glad to hear it.
