when you transfer 4.0 to 2.9, yes.

L3 = offset to L1... L1+L3 = Algo automatic tone mapping when the content exceeds your TV capabilities
L8 = artistic trim pass(es), manually done by the colorist for a more accurate tone mapping when the content exceeds your TV capabilities
L9 = Mastering display primaries color are signaled shot by shot for better alignment with the metadata bitstream carriage.

Thanks. Great info.

On a different note, is there a way to know which is the right streaming file to download? For example, I see these two uploads for dune 2:

Dune.Part.Two.2024.Eng.Fre.Ger.Ita.Spa.2160p.WEBMux.DV.HDR.HEVC.Atmos-SGF

Dune.Part.Two.2024.2160p.WEB-DL.DV.HDR10.PLUS.ENG.LATINO.HINDI.DDP5.1.Atmos.H265.MP4-BEN.THE.MEN

How is WEBMux different from WEB-DL? Does it matter if it is hevc or h265 or even x265? And how come the WEB-DL upload has hdr10+ in it (i dont remember dune 2 has hdr10+ on either disc or streaming wise)?
WEBMux is the highest quality you can achieve via streaming service, like remux in bdremux. Both of them got the DoVi 8.1, but the second one is also HDR10+ Profile B compatible. There’s also DoVi 5 available

oops I downloaded the 2nd one instead of the WEBMux. Does it matter since I will only use the file to transfer the cmv4.0 rpu to the bluray version?

@RESET_9999 I just read your comment under the Transfer CMV4.0 bloc tutorial:

PS: I made a small mistake. At the end, you should verify the scene cuts with the BL using the synced P5 or P8 RPU and not the final P7 RPU because the P7 cmv4.0 rpu will have untouched L1L2 and scene cuts.

I see you dragged the Fast.X.2023.BD cmv2.9 P7 FEL _ CMV4.0.bin into workflow 2-3. Is that where it is wrong? Which file should be dragged in instead?

2-6 will output two RPUs, one that says ''verify_sync'' and another one that says '' L3_L8_L9_transfered''
isn't it obvious which one to verify sync and which is the P7 cmv4.0 rpu ?

On my end there's no verify sync file... Something must have gone wrong then.

you have to sync the web rpu directly in 2-6... Read the other note in the comments. When i did this tutorial, the script could not re-sync or fix the framecount mismatch in 2-6

I already synced the rpu using 2-6. I checked the final mkv file's dovi L1 plot and it was exactly the same as the original bluray file's dovi L1 plot, so that is a good indicator that the syncing was done successfully. I just didn't see the verify sync file. I may have deleted it accidentally. Will try with another movie.

No, because in 2-6, you don't touch L1/L2 and scene cuts of the original P7 RPU, you just add L3-L8-L9. This is exactly the same mistake I did in the video.
Also, even if you did plot the ''verify_sync'' rpu, L1 could still look slightly different because sometimes WEB has less or more scene cuts in the beginning which would change the L1 plot graph. What matters is that your ''verify_sync'' rpu scene cuts match the P7 rpu/BL

Well, the only group I would 100% trust is 3L and it's only because I know him personally and I know that he always does all the necessary checks.

Same for their Black Widow release and others.
Can you check the 3L release of Black Widow? They released DV HYBRID but according to your spreadsheet they are different grades?

Similarly, 3L released the following movies:
Star Wars 3 (your spreadsheet says the metadata is out of sync on the original P5 WEB-DL)
Inside Out (your spreadsheet says it has an MDL mismach)

Is it possible that 3L fixed these issues? I'm not sure they would have corrected Black Widow though if it's different grades?

Yeah, the earlier remux might not have been checked, we didn't have the tools we have today. I'm surprised he didn't delete them though.
But since we have the tool to plot, check scene cuts, tone map P5, etc.. I know for a fact that he does all those checks.

Star Wars 3 seems to be a studio error. The DV metadata were created from faulty scene cuts so the result is not necessarily wrong/visible, it is just not as good as a DV analysis with proper scene cuts
Black Widow and Inside Out are definitely wrong though.

What about those x265 uploads? Do they have the same rpu as the hevc/h265 counterparts?

Ok i did it again and the verify sync rpu scene cuts matched.

If a movie is not in any of the red/green/yellow list in your spreadsheet, e. g. Creed III, does it mean this transfer process won't work or you haven't tested with that movie yet?

I just tried with another movie (Blue Beetle 2023) and the stream file I download turned out to be cmv2.9, not 4.0  (Blue.Beetle.2023.2160p.MA.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.Atmos.DV.HDR.H.265-FLUX)

I then tried Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom 2023 and it was cmv4.0 but I realize some numbers on my L1 plot are different compared to yours:

yeah, web rips should have the exactly same P8 RPU (CMv4.0) as original WEBMuxes/WEB-DL, UHDrips usually have P8 RPU (CMv2.9) converted from P7 MEL

I'm trying to download The Marvels (2023) stream version to transfer the cmv4.0 rpu to the bluray version and I see two uploads:

1) The.Marvels.2023.2160p.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.Atmos.DV.HDR.H.265-FLUX[TGx]

2) The.Marvels.2023.ITA.ENG.IMAX.2160p.DSNP.WEB-DL.DV.HDR.H.265-MeM.GP.mkv

The 1st one is 18GB in size and the 2nd one is 10.4GB. The 1st one seems to have higher bitrate, however the 2nd one has "DSNP" in the title, so I guess it's from Disney+ instead of Itunes (in RESET_9999's spreadsheet it says dont use itunes web-dl as its missing L4 - not sure if this still applies with the new dovi tool). Which one should I download?

Btw, i just downloaded a the stream file and it turned out to be cmv2.9, not 4.0  (Blue.Beetle.2023.2160p.MA.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.Atmos.DV.HDR.H.265-FLUX)
How do I know before downloading?
