MKV newb needs help

Post by NotARobot »

Hey all,

Just getting back to backing up my stuff. Trying out MKV as SlyS is dead. My issue is when I try to create a MKV file there is no audio for the movie even though the box is checked. I attempted to create a complete backup but the audio that is ripped ends up being a commentary track.
Any help is much appreciated. Sorry if the is not the correct spot for this post. Advise and I will move it.

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

What are you trying to do?

The drive is not capable of dealing with UHD (it was built 2 years before the standard was released). As such, it isn't really necessary for it to do LibreDrive, because it will do what it does without additional software.

As for the audio, are you sure your playback software understands the audio?

I am try to make backups of my movies to watch on Plex. I've used the drive to backup 100s of BD in the past.

....pebkac...different PC from my old HTPC. Playback software was the issue, lol. Trying to do one disc for 3 days.

Thanks for the help WoodStock!

Would I need a new drive for 4k?

dvdcompare.net says most versions Enter the Ninja only have DTS audio. Is that what your copy has? Can your playback software play DTS audio? I don't think Windows Media Player can play DTS by default. VLC should be able to play DTS.
