And any chance that a workaround will be found for the December 2022 firmware in future?
I'm very patient

Most likely yes we are unsure if it will require firmware flashing or just a libredrive update

Just for interest, does anyone know how that Pioneer drive differs
functionally from this one please?
Code: Select all
Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr1
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD08U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: <etc>
Firmware date: 2022-12-27
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 76
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS9331
Firmware version: ID05
I don't know what the "Drive platform" "RS9621" vs "RS9331" signifies, nor "ID69" vs "ID05", especially since my drive has a later "revision" than that one.
Thanks for any input here.

The XS08U drive is a slot-loader (and a very nice one too), that’s all I can tell you - hope it helps.

Yes, and I believe the "U" signifies "UHD-capable". My "XD08U" has a "liftable lid", which is presumably what the "D" means too. But "slot-loader vs liftable-ld" is just the drive's "form-factor". I would (naively) have expected our two drives to be more similar at the firmware level

Hello
I found this drive.
Is it possible to enable this drive?
Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S12
Revision : 1.04
Serial number: ALDxxxxxxxWL
Firmware date: 2022-12-20
Bus encryption flags: 1B
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID45
No disc
Is it possible to make UHD friendly with this Pioneer ?
Where can I get UHD friendly firmware?
I read 1.04 might be a problem with this drive.
Many thanks for your help
Best Regards
Peter
