No. It has to be flashed to be UHD compatible. Contact Billy.

Is the Pioneer BDR-XD07TS supported? I see a BDR-XD07 in the list, is it the same model?
If the fw is from before 12/22 email me your makemkv drive info section and I will make a flasher for you see below for contact info.
Thank you. So without flashing your firmware, the drive will not be supported "out of the box"?
Not for UHD discs

I grabbed a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from Adorama per the previous two posts. Crossing my fingers for a 3/3 success rate since it was the last one in stock! :D

Guess I'll just hang on to this and hope for an update soon. (I still have a B0UN LibreDrive)

No, cannot currently be flashed as it has the dredded firmware that is newer than Dec 2022.

I don't believe there are any external Pioneer drives available anywhere anymore that are UHD & libredrive compatible. It's now a waiting game.
Cheers :D

Hi, is it correct that this drive can get LibreDrive support via an sdf.bin update?
Also would there be any reason to update to a newer firmware (pre-December 2022, of course)?

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-ROM BDCUD03AS
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: NHDL000680WL
Firmware date: 2014-04-01
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 23

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8590
Firmware version: ID23

It says BDR-UD03ASC on the label.
Let me know if you need any further details about this drive.

Thanks

Thank you for your quick response, Billy.
I've looked into your flashing guide and it says Pioneer drives can't be flashed. Is that info outdated?
It doesn't look like older Pioneer firmwares are publicly avaiable.

Sounds really cool, thanks for the clarification.
Unfortunately I don't own a single UHD disc, so I'm not interested in buying Billy's flasher (sorry).

What about my question whether this drive can get LibreDrive support on standard firmware?

You just have to submit your drive info to Mike and he can support it then.
But there is very little benefit to it without the UHD part

Just came here to say this. The comments all said it was 1.02. I just got mine and it is showing 1.03.

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.03
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2023-01-06
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 61

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8E21
Firmware version: ID05

I'm planning to return and buy a pre-flashed drive now. I was hoping to get a quality Pioneer drive.
