Edit. I realized it didnt even attach the file here is a google drive link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P_JtiJ ... drive_link
You also have to allow external access to your file.

I also have the issue with Elf just no L9 error its a bunch of L2 errors but I have the same file that is listed in the screenshots on the Google Sheets So maybe its my setup?
I'm guessing you're getting warnings and not errors? warnings is fine.

Oops that’s my bad I enabled access, it lists it as an error. This is what it lists
ERROR: Undefined Level2 Target Display with ID: 27 at shot
then it’s a bunch of characters and there’s a lot of the errors and it’s just that same as that. Does L2 Metadata have to pass a Validation Test?

ok your file is cmv4.0 but only for the first two frames so you should remove it completely.
I fixed your file but it still has CMV4.0 and because the original was just for two frames, my fixed rpu generated static L3 metadata: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Nvixsu ... sp=sharing

L2 trim pass seems fine in the fixed version:

Did you check the whole clip ?? its just some random frame that flashes. The first flash happens at frame 68.
if yes then I don't see how its possible and why its happening ONLY with the transformers movies. As I said I checked hundred of movies with the same avs script.
Yes I see them with DoviBaker only, my method looks fine.
It's probably a bug in DoviBaker.
@quietvoid, can you explain your method ? Or send a link where I can learn about it? Thanks!

I check this thread from time to time but I have asked myself why you guys go through all that trouble.

An Oppo clone plays everything you throw at it besides profile 8 and 5. And there are now ways to convert profile 8 back to profile 7 and the outcome DV is clearly better quality than profile 8 - at least the same. Is it just to save some bucks not to buy an Oppo clone? And have hassles here and there and fumble with things instead to load a movie and enjoy it in full quality? Guys - that's nuts. And much too consuming time. Like in the old days: Life is too short to do video on a PC.

Hi! Is there any explanation of the 7-5-3 workflow (playing FEL files with MPC)? I assume there's no way for windows to actually launch the display into dolby vision, so is this somehow showing the dynamic metadata using regular HDR output?
I also haven't been able to get the workflow to launch yet, I'm getting error messages (see image link).
It's possible I don't have MPC installed correctly, I downloaded the portable version and put it in the tools folder. But not sure if it matters whether I use the 64 or 32 bit version, or what the name for the MPC folder should be.
Thank you!

My point just above your post. Tell me why you are going through all these hassles.

Only FEL, the dynamic metadata are not used and no it won't trigger DV but you can watch in HDR10 or SDR.
It looks like your input(p7 ST I guess?) failed to be demuxed with dovi_tool.
here's the tool pack: https://mega.nz/file/VedxEIBB#bfjgWeSpr ... NCIC372rQQ

I don't provide support, it's in VapourSynth: https://github.com/OpusGang/awsmfunc/bl ... e.py#L1905

Great Thanks that fixed it my only other issue is my Elf copy. I've attached the XML file. I've done other movies and they work great

there's no L2 error on my copy of Elf (p5 iTunes)...
why do you share the XML instead of the rpu? maybe you're using an old version of dovi_meta(tool that converts rpu to XML)?

That was the issue I updated dovi_meta tool from version 0.2.0 to 0.2.1 now I dont have any errors and everything works. Thanks for the help
