Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hi Marty. I am having problem Flashing my LG drive. I do think its because I am running Win 7, and not Win 10? Is this a problem? I get an error when I try to flash the drive. Help?

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hi, I have BH16NS55 with 1.05 firmware and I want to install the BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK firmware. I'm not sure whether I should check the "encrypted firmware" option.
I dumped my firmware and I got "dump_user_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__BH16NS55_1.05_212006181342_K9THC2E1735.tar", which seems different than "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BH16NS55-1.05-N000400-212004211049.bin" mentioned in the encrypted firmware list in the first post.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
The dump is not the complete firmware file. It's a tar (zip) file containing just the important parts of the firmware.Arthan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 12:39 pmHi, I have BH16NS55 with 1.05 firmware and I want to install the BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK firmware. The latest version of SDFtool Flasher should automatically detect and set the encrypted firmware flag for you. I also suggest you flash WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware as it is much better than the ASUS firmware.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Thanks, I actually just downgraded with "DE_LG_BH16NS55_1.02.bin" so my drive can properly read lead out when dumping CDs as per the guide here.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:15 pmI also suggest you flash WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware as it is much better than the ASUS firmware.
Re: SDFtool Flasher
Thanks Marty, I installed MakeMKV to the default path. MakeMKV Does not see the drive. But SDFToolFlaser did. I did a read then a write and I got the following error. 0x82052400 and the drive did not flash.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 8:04 pmYou must have MakeMKV installed in the default location which should be: C:/Program Files (x86)/MakeMKV.

Apologies if this is a dumb question. But what is the difference between;
DE_LGBP60NB10_1.02-MK.bin and
DE_LG_BP60NB10-NB12_1.02-MK.bin
DE_LGBP60NB10_1.02-MK.bin and
DE_LG_BP60NB10-NB12_1.02-MK.bin

Re: SDFtool Flasher
So, using SDFTool Flasher (latest version), you should see a green tick for both "MT1959 Drive Platform" and "Encrypted Firmware". If you don't see a green tick for "Encrypted Firmware" but see a red X, click the red X to toggle it to a green tick. Also, before attempting to flash the drive, make sure the drive tray is empty and closed.Panda04 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:54 pmDrive info:

Now, I'm not sure what firmware you tried to flash but you only have 2 options to start with. You can flash either ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.10-MK or WH16NS60 1.02-MK. Use the ASUS firmware if you often write discs. If you rarely write discs use the WH16NS60 1.02-MK. It is the recommended firmware as it is fastest and removes the sleep bug. Both of these firmwares work well with MakeMKV and AnyDVD. They do not work with DVDFab. If you use that software, once you have flashed either of the above mentioned firmwares, you can then flash the drive to ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.02 or WH16NS60 1.00, as both of these work with all popular ripping software.
Cheers

If there was a disc in the drive, remove it. Drive must be empty.

Opps,
My daughter had left a disc in the drive.
Thank you,
