Be careful. You need to use US UHD and not EUR UHD. The source for the DV WEB-DL is the American version with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, EUR UHD is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Some scenes were refilmed between the two versions and therefore DV from one wouldn't exactly match with another.jayper wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 11:47 pmThanks for the reassurance.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. MKV file made with MakeMKV has 219173 frames.

Thanks for the tip. I have the US UHD.uhdiznotenough4mee wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:07 amBe careful. You need to use US UHD and not EUR UHD. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
oh by 4 frames you meant the script complained about a framecount mismatch when injecting the RPU??
if yes, then it is normal to have a framecount mismatch because it's rarely the same as the WEB-DL. What matter is if the rpu scene cut match your bluray scene cut.
workflow is (2-4) and check the animated gif ("Verify DV synchronization.gif") in the tutorial folder.Or is that a specific process I can run with the tool?
Sorry for my English.

No, I opened the created MKV in StaxRip to verify the frame count of the MKV. I also ran the 2-2 workflow to view the frame count of the RPU. I noticed the four frame distance and then when running the 1-1 Hybrd workflow, I re-synced the RPU by removing 4 frames.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:10 amoh by 4 frames you meant the script complained about a framecount mismatch when injecting the RPU??

Thanks very much, I will check that one out! I had no idea it existed. Thank you.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:10 amworkflow is (2-4) and check the animated gif ("Verify DV synchronization.gif") in the tutorial folder.Code: Select all

I see, then you didn't have to remove 4 frames. You still should always verify sync with (2-4)jayper wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:14 amNo, I opened the created MKV in StaxRip to verify the frame count of the MKV. Thanks again for all the help today. I will verify with 2-4 and try again. Thanks so much.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I watch the film last night and I honestly don't think it has ever looked better. I've seen it so many times at this point, and I was blown away. It'd been a few years, so maybe I am out of touch with the HDR10 grade... I was also really focused on colors and the presentation, so maybe there's a bit of placebo effect happening, but I was quite happy. One of these nights, I need to try and flip flop between the HDR10 and DV for comparison. Thanks again for all the help!RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 11:58 pmThanks, I just checked mine and it's in sync.
But it is better to always verify the scene cut when you inject someone else RPU.

@RESET_9999
Is this a video that might benefit from a Resolve generated RPU? Original file is BL+FEL+RPU.

not sure i understand your question... Why would you generate DV when you have the original retail metadata?

That's fair. Is it common to see an "Average" line flat for so long?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 8:36 pm

yes and you would get the same metadata with resolve.
AS long as it's not static or incorrect, the graph (L1) is supposed to be a perfect representation of the HDR grade.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum. I've literally been reading about Dolby Vision for 7 hours straight as I am a noob and right now there is literal steam coming out of my ear and I just want to ask a couple of questions.
I have a Panasonic DV-ready OLED (JZ1000) and am about to order a SONY X700. What is the simplest way I can watch FEL DV on this player? I read RESET_9999's spreadsheet about 45 times and it said something about a BDMV structure on USB but every information is literally scattered over the entire internet in 500+ pages and I tried my best to read through it all but still want to confirm my findings.
1. Can you only put 1 BDMV folder in your root or can you put multiple?
2. You cannot stream anything to your blu-ray player right?
3. If I already have a BDMV folder structure, do I need to do anything to it or is it just plug and play? (drop it on a USB HDD)
That's it for now.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
If you're using BDMV structures for playback, you can ONLY put one BDMV folder in the root directory of the USB drive. That being said, you can also use TSMusxer to create TS files which retain and playback DV metadata. For TS files, you can have as many as the drive will hold. However, with BDMV structures you retain chapter information.sultanmehmet wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 11:35 pm1. Can you only put 1 BDMV folder in your root or can you put multiple?
It might be possible to stream TS files using Plex's DLNA support, but I am not sure about that. Never tried. You need a really robust wireless network, or wired ethernet to support the high bitrates of these files.sultanmehmet wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 11:35 pm2. If all you have done is a decrypted of a Dolby Vision disc back-up using MakeMKV, you'll need to use TSMuxer to create a new BDMV folder using the main movie's playlist as the input. The x700 cannot playback folders/isos with full menu support, as far as I know.sultanmehmet wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 11:35 pm3. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
And for what it is worth, its been quite a while since I used my x700 for playback so if any of the above is incorrect, anyone else correct me.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thanks Jayper!
So BDMV is only 1 movies at a time huh? In that case I will gladly move to .ts files. I don't mind losing chapter information as I usually never use the function to begin with. It would be nice of course but no disaster.
It would have been nice to be able to use DLNA, but something tells me that streaming +/- 75 mbps bitrate files will just severely lag and buffer and whatnot. I don't know if anybody here has succesfully used it?
I looked at the spreadsheet for the x700 using TS files and it reads:
M2TS & TS tsMuxeR
* forced subtitles must be selected manually
* no chapter support
* can't play two movies in a row without locking up
can be unlocked by playing this file
* cannot FF/RW long movies
No chapter support is fine, and I don't plan on playing 2 movies back to back.
What does 'forced subtitles' mean? I didn't get this part.
And it says cannot FF/RW long movies. What's in this case being defined as a 'long movie'? Anything longer than 2 hours? 3 hours?
Thanks guys.
