How can I play UHD on the fly on my pc?

Post by thinredline »

Hello.
I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. (please move it if it is)

In the past I could play some UHD discs with MPC-HC or VLC but now it seems impossible.
I have an external drive LG-BU40N with firmware v1.03mk.
My pc's specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 Vision G, CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K 3,70GHz
Graphics Card: Manli GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, RAM: 64GB
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

I've also makemkv installed, and in the intergration tab, I've checked VLC. (Do I have to have the paid version for this to work?)

Is there any trick I can do to play them with these 2 software (VLC and MPC-HC)?
I use PotPlayer too, but nothing.

Thank you.
So, subscription is needed for the VLC integration.
If I do this, then I will be able to play my UHDs with VLC without a problem you think?

I have paid for AnyDVD and I don't have any problem when I use it, but there are many UHDs currently unsupported by it.
That's why I'm looking for a solution.

Some guys still had issues but I think there is a close to 100% chance it will work with the paid version.

An alternate solution is to rip instead to play it on-the-fly. In Makemkv you can rip to folder and then play it. You can also then make an ISO with Imgburn and load the ISO with VitualCloneDrive. But that's not on-the-fly.

Yes, thanks, I know about that. I've already ripped one UHD but I don't want to have to do this.
I'll try with the paid version.

Thanks again!! I paid for makemkv and voila!
My UHDs are playing with both VLC and MPC. (although I don't see any integration for MPC in the software).
