as far as firmware i dont know cant read it, and i ran the program in admin mode

The SDFtool Flasher is a front-end for the MakeMKV sdftool... no MakeMKV, no back-end functionality.

Requirements:

Windows 10 64 bit version
MakeMKV v1.15.1 (or higher) installed
.NET Framework 4.7.2 **only for SDFtool Flasher v1.2.0**

And just to be safe... what month/year was the wh16ns40 manufactured?

As MakeMKV doesn't do any encoding, I don't see why it would need to.

edit: well, maybe audio, but no... not terribly resource-intensive.

can i backup the firmware the drive came with is that firmware dumpif cant and need to revert what should i do and wich firmware is apprpriate for a wh16ns40 also i get error 0x8f056103 do i use write firmware or recover?

FW v1.05 is encrypted IIRC, so backup is not possible. Refer to Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2022 for recommended FW.

The embedded beta key expires right around now, so you'll need to wait until Mike posts a new one & apply it. Always found here... MakeMKV is free while in beta.

no it worked i still get that error though and now an additional redbox it even ripped one of my blurays but wouldnt play the main file im guessing cause the patcher isnt working

update now back in mkv and checking firmware was not written so0 is an error issue

and im using the de. files idk if makes a difference but might want to later be able to use another program like dvd to compare if can. i mean due to the price id prefer make mkv but i wanna see if the other software has tools makemkv dont, cant use there trial for whatever reason can change /flash the drive without buying and not going to do that for now

not sure what libredrive is, i usualy just use power dvd as i already own the software. i can try the mk firmware but i tried downloading it and said download failed
