Exactly what is a TGZ.

The type file created when MakeMKV can't figure out what to do with your disk. It will have the name of the disk and some characters at the end, and it gets forwarded to svq@makemkv.com so that it can be processed into what is needed to decode the disk contents.

Your rip attempt should have given you the path to it, so that you could forward it to the author.

There usually aren't .tgz files with regular blu-rays, only with UHDs. Presumably the OP had some other issue trying to rip the disc.
