Unable to download latest sdf file

It appears that the file is trying to be downloaded from [https://makemkv.com/sdf.bin](https://makemkv.com/sdf.bin) but it is actually at [https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin](https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin) now.

MakeMKV v1.16.7 win(x64-release) started

Downloading latest SDF to C:\\Users\\ME/.MakeMKV ...

Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.

I did manually download the sdf.bin file and placed it in c:\\users\\ME\\.makemkv but I still cannot successfully open any blueray nor any ultra disks. DVD disks are fine.

Has anyone encountered this issue?
Any suggestions or ideas on how to fix?

Can you please copy/paste Drive Information / LibreDrive Information from the MakeMKV Info pane?

sdf.bin download (largely) only necessary for latest UHD keys.

IF you are unable to read BD/UHD (BLUE laser), but DVD/CD (RED laser) is OK. the associated laser MAY have gone bad. Let's see what you're working with.

d00zah, patched 1.02 version can read DVDs but not blueray nor uhd.

I repatched to 1.03 and Windows can see the bluray.
MakeMKV can also now see the bluray. Right now I have it doing a backup to my hard disk unencyrpted.

Any ideas why patched 1.02 cannot see the disks but the manufacturer patch 1.03 can?

Not sure I understand this statement. The drive info you posted reports "Product: BD-RE WH16NS60, Revision: 1.02" & the log clearly shows MakeMKV could "read" the UHD disc well enough to generate a dump file.

Are you, perhaps, confusing the ability to "decrypt" w/ the ability to "read"? The "patched 1.02" FW IS the recommended version for MakeMKV.

You may have read roldogg post earlier in my thread and got them mixed up. His post had the dump. I did not have any dumps.

With 1.02 patch version MKV UI says it could read them but actual Blu-ray and uhd disks could not be read at all. Neither Windows 10 nor MakeMKV would see those disks when inserted.

When I went back to the manufacture's 1.03 firmware version both windows 10 and makemkv could read the Blu-ray disk. Last night's backup of a Blu-ray disk was successful using 1.03 firmware.

This verifies that the lasers in the disk drive are fine. That was your hypothesis earlier and I wanted to check that and return the drive if needed.

I will attempt to re-patch to version 1.02 using SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.3) later today and retest.

Indeed I did. Sorry. Initially, I was looking for more info, as you didn't provide much to go on. Didn't catch the 'me, too' poster change.

The 'no BD/UHD, but DVD OK' scenario CAN Indicate a defective drive, but sometimes just a power cycle is sufficient to set things right.

When requesting assistance, it's helpful to provide as much up-front detail (drive info, logs) as possible so we don't need to resort to speculation (or fortune telling ).

Thank you and sorry about that. I thought all of my problems were stemming from not being able to download that file as it appears the URL has changed.

I will patch after a backup of a UHD disk is done and also perform a full power down. I do not recall if I did a full power cycle earlier.

All that said, I still don't know what drive I'm speculating about. If LibreDrive Information indicates LD is enabled AND you are successfully reading/ripping discs, no need to further muck about.
