So both Firestick 4K 2018 & Max look the same with the Spears & Munsil eagle beak shot.
I tried both original profile 7 and converted to 8.1.

It's not as yellow as with the LG C8 internal player.

L2 metadata isn't being ignored, so this might actually be the player-led issue.

But can we safely say Fire TV 4k Max 2021 model does not play FEL DV, but ignores the El and acts like Nvidia Shield? If this is the case, how accurate the colors are with "MEL" at that point if it's ignoring the EL? Are there any test files to test it out properly @quietvoid? Any way I can help you with the test?

I don't think they use player-led (I was the one who suspected it): with our 2018 LG Oleds it's easy to notice, it produces the same banding/posterization as with HDR10 in PC mode (probably triggering the same low latency mode, where certain basic image processing is disabled).
So Oppo's player-led output is different from Firestick4k's output, there's no such issue with Firestick4k.

So, not sure why it's different, but we saw this with the black level test as well, that's why I stopped using Firestick4k, and use the Plex app on the TV instead.
If you upload samples and tell me exactly when/what to look for I can take a look.

that's because I did those samples with tsmuxer and it breaks something in the RPU when you split the file. I didn't know about that back then.

As I suspected. These files don't play on Plex at all regardless of container type. Tried to play them on the latest Kodi build. All of them played in HDR10. Was hoping ( don't know why lol ) that the Plex addon in Kodi will be different. Results were identical, all played in HDR10.

With my current setup, is it possible to playback HEVC Dolby Vision Blu-ray Discs with a BDMV folder/m2ts files?
