Any way to run a command line to force this problem DVD to be read successfully?
I'm trying to rip the first and largest title from The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts Complete Collection disc #7 (publisher disc ID 30439-X) for my own collection so I don't put any wear on my DVDs.
All discs up to the first title on disc #7 (and the rest of disc #7) have so far been ripped with no issues.
This is the first problem I ran into with this series, brand new out of the box, never opened.
The 1st title cannot be ripped by MakeMKV on two different Blu-Ray/DVD drives.
Titles 2 through 10 on this same disc, no problem at all.
Information when opening disc manually (I only include info on the one title I'm trying to rip).

Re: particular DVD title fails at about 1777MB (included -disc and -tree output from DiscInfo.bat)
I may have turned the corner on this.
It's possible even though the disc was brand new that there could have been a nearly undetectable film on it that was enough to interfere with the first title, even though the other nine titles read properly.
It's also possible there was an issue with the external blu-ray drive needing to be air dusted.
Despite other configuration options tried yesterday (including setting read retry count to 99 and changing protection removal method, those seemed not to help whatsoever.
It seemed to be a combination of merely polishing the disc (using circular motion I discovered and reasoned was better than wiping by spinning the disc while pinching with cloth in other hand) and blowing out the external drive.
Anyway, it got through the first title completely. In fact it divided the first title into four separate chapters when I used manual read option (tried but failed yesterday exactly the same as a normal rip) but that's OK.
In fact I found the 1st chapter of the 1st title was 1778 M which was barely larger than where it used to fail yesterday. That explains why manual read produced 4 chapters from title 1 instead of just trying to produce one full title.
I suspect it could not see the first chapter boundary in manual read and didn't bother trying to go any further in telling me about separate chapters.
Data from MakeMKV for this successful attempt was much different (next try will be normal mode where the four separate chapters should produce one title as expected):

Re: particular DVD title fails at about 1777MB (included -disc and -tree output from DiscInfo.bat)
No dice...where I was able to use manual mode earlier which chopped title 1 into 4 chapters (maybe sections is a better word)...it died at 1777.2 again after attempting rip of title 1 in normal mode:
When it treats the title as a whole unit it has a problem.
When it knows about separate chapters or sections in the title, then it's OK.
Now I just have to figure out how to use manual mode to glue the 4 chapters (or maybe sections of title 1 is a better description) into one title, then I'm done.
Here's the output from the failed normal (non-manual) mode attempt:
