Flash WH16NS40 from 1.05 to 1.02

Hi - Just bought a WH16NS40 Mfg. Dec 2020. Current Firmware 1.05

I tried to use the SDF Tool Flasher to downgrade from 1.05 to 1.02.

I tried using the .enc flag both checked and unchecked. The progress bar moves, but then nothing happens.

I also tried using the H-L Data Storage Flasher from the yt1s video tutorial. The bar doesn't move, and then I get an error:

Write DRAM NG 05/24/00 error

What am I doing wrong ?

Also tried the Command Line tutorial and got the same error after 98% complete.

You didn't say which firmware you are trying to downgrade to. If you mean WH16NS40 1.02, then no, you cannot go straight to that firmware. Flash WH16NS40 1.05-MK first, with enc, then flash WH16NS40 1.02 without enc.

OK Thanks - Just FYI - I tried to downgrade to (DE_flash_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_WH16NS40_1.02_NS50.bin)

I understand now about the 2 step downgrade.

Where can I find the exact correct 1.05 and 1.02 files ? I have seen many different links to the 1.05 and 1.02, but several have different file names ?

Is there 1 good archive I can get ? I need to also downgrade a WH16NS60 as well.

They are all in the firmware pack. Check the UHD Ultimate Guide.

I do appreciate all your help, but I'm still not finding all the files. I went to the UHD Ultimate Guide and downloaded the All You Need Firmware Pack.

When I extracted it, there were only 4 total bin files in it. 1 in each folder.

Ok, go to the SDFtool flasher thread and download the MK firmware pack and DE firmware pack from the first post.
