mmm, so you are getting different metadata from the HBO stream...Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:20 pmNo it wasn’t graded darker that is my test file @1000 nit

very strange, the metadata i posted is from the WEB-DL
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The HBO stream is in DV. Guessing the scene releases can’t properly capture DV from HBO yet.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:23 pmmmm, so you are getting different metadata from the HBO stream...Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:20 pmNo it wasn’t graded darker that is my test file @1000 nit

there are two HDR HBO stream: DV and HDR10. the scene can web-dl DV and HDR10, they both use the same Widevine L1 protection.

The Dolby Vision RPU also contains the same ST2086 HDR10 metadata inside.
So where is the 4000 from

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
yep that's right, when I turn off DV on my x700 and play a profile 5 file, I get HDR10 playback with the metadata from the RPU which corresponds to the HDR10 counterpart. I will try justice league on my x700 tonight.
The metadata posted by manix are the one from the HDR10 stream on HBO..
it's not a DV to HDR10 conversion.
maybe the web-dl are fake ? notice how the HDR10 version is encoded with wrong Chroma subsampling type 1 instead of type 2
you cant really fake a DV release though... maybe other streaming platforms? this is a mystery
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Doesn't seem to be a different service, but maybe they do have multiple versions for different displays.
600 nits, 1000 nits, etc. are all possible targets for Dolby Vision.
That would explain how the MaxCLL is very close to the target..

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yes, that's possible and totally makes sense but I think it's from different streaming websites. It's available on Itunes India.
I know that most of the disney+ web-dl are actually from Hotstar India and not from Disney+ America.
The bitrate/metadata and quality are not the same (also theres no mediainfo x265 encoding settings visible on disney+ web-dl):
Disney+ stream is at 16mb/s and Hotstar 20mb/s but Disney plus is still in slightly higher quality: https://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/12072

funky colors: yep its a bug on HBO app Shield in 23.976 ... if you switch to 60hz, you should get the HDR10 stream.

Only hdr10
Sometimes u get dv in the funky colors too happens with wonder & only on the shield tv
Apple a few occasions
It glitches switching to 60fps fixes that it try’s to play the dv file while it is still loaded by the hbo app so u get bt2020 12-422 funky colors no triggering,
Exit app reset no issue in dv mode I sometimes I switch the vertex2 back to hdr10 mode to get meta mean while still in the app so like I said dv file still loaded.

DV is fine but when you have an HDR10 only display and try to play HDR content in 23.976 on HBO, you get the DV stream with green and purple colors
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
For those with Ugoos or Minix with Ugoos 0.40 firmware, what options are you seeing in Dolby Vision display settings?
I only get:
- Dolby vision enable with low latency (YUV)
- Dolby vision disable
And Always on toggle
The reference to “low latency” makes me think it is player led not TV led. I have Panasonic GZ1000

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Good news, both HDR10 and SDR modes are accurate in 12bits on the UGOOS. So this the best android device for HDR10/DV/SDR + lossless audio.dysprosium wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 4:48 amWith DV off, are you getting the correct colours now for the SDR/HDR10 test patterns? If so, it's something that should be easy for Ugoos to fix as bobby mentioned (match content colourspace with DV on).
HDR10: https://slow.pics/c/n4HSSEyU
SDR: https://slow.pics/c/XGv9WNjm
Strange that SDR in 8bit 444 is not accurate because my HTPC and x700 are both accurate in 8bit or 12bit.
