State of the art 4k movies from a technical view

Don't dismiss a movie just because it's a 4K upscale. I own some films that are 4K upscales that easily outperform a few native 4K titles. Pacific Rim, for example, is absolute reference material (especially for showcasing HDR). It's sci-fi, so not what you're looking for, but it's a good example of how an upscaled movie can still hold its own.

My recommendation that fits into what you're looking for is without a doubt The Revenant. It's beautifully filmed and looks incredible in 4K.

Thank you, I looked at the trailers of your recommendations and I am sorry, this is not what I am looking for and I am not talking of the quality of the movie itself. I gave Planet Earth II a chance. For my taste a little bit too much animals. I saw fantastic movies of Pamir mountains, would be great in 4k. Looked for dance movies in 4k too and found nothing. I am look for "natural" scenes and not scifi-scenes created artificially with a computer.

In your first post you said your primary goal is best technical quality, and you mention testing a TV for quality. There is no shortage of excellent technical quality with native 4K in UHD movies, but upon initial recommendations you're not liking the content suggested.

I'm not sure why the content is so important (such as excellent 4K nature content including some animals so you're ruling it out) if you just want to test a TV. You mention you're not interested in science fiction, although science fiction arguably has some of the best 4K visuals.

With some recommending Bond or Bourne as having landscape shots (according to the spreadsheet, none of the Bourne films are native 4K except for the last one, "Jason Bourne"), I would recommend Mission Impossible Fallout, which is native 4K, but it is an action movie.

I'm not sure if there's a UHD title that is exactly the content you're looking for. My suggestion would be to purchase the discs for content you enjoy, unless you're a TV salesperson. As I've built up quite a library of Blu-rays over the last few years, my own criteria for UHD (for now) is that I'm primarily interested in native 4K only, for movies and television shows that I really enjoy.
