Tried switching the drop down for all 3 types.

That looks like an error from something other than an original Blu-ray disc...

It is the original bluray disc. It almost finishes, but fails toward the end.

Also fails when trying to make a backup of the disc.

I'd try cleaning the disc (again, if you did that before) and, if that doesn't do the trick, return it to the place of purchase in exchange for another one...

Cool. I'll give it a try.

Returned and got another disc and it worked. The returned disc was a pretty new disc though and only played once before before.
