1.15.4 is out now folks, there's no need to jump through hoops anymore I'm just running my dual layer MKV's through it and a single layer DV MKV comes out nicely the other end
Hi guys. Sorry if I missed this, but didn't get through all the pages yet. I found that dvhe.08.06 works on my LG C8 with DV and DA, but when I make my own remuxes, how do I chose or change this version? Or do you change this in the tsMuxer? Thanks and sorry for the noon questions
Not sure if I missed something, but I'm on 1.15.4 with a Dolby Vision disc (10 Cloverfield Lane), and I can't figure out how to extract a DV MKV - I don't see it showing up anywhere -- this is what I see when I go to extract (see attached) the disc. Do I extract both of these ~50gb files to get DV, or ? I don't know how folks are making "dual layer" MKV, and don't see that as an option in MakeMKV.
Can someone do a quick step by step? I see that Plex has just updated the iOS app with DV support, so hope springs eternal!
Thanks.

Click the triangle to open it up. On the Video line you should see something like this:

That lets you know MakeMKV sees the Dolby Vision info and will output it in the resulting MKV file.
No issues here with Plex! Have you tried restarting the movie a few times? Are you on latest Plex beta? (not sure if DV playback is still in beta)
Easiest way I've found to avoid playback issues is to delete, rescan, empty trash and re-import the movie to the library.
Ok, will try that, but for the Movie listing it doesn't say "Dolby Vision" just "4K (HEVC Main 10 HDR)", so I don't know if it's picking up the DV. I am not on the Plex beta, just the current 1.25.0.1511-47afccd4 release (which I just updated to now, so I will test again).
Attached is the media info file detail - assuming the "D O L V I" listings are Dolby Vision, I guess maybe it is recognizing the DV metadata in the file?
Thanks, all!

There is no indicator for DV on Plex clients for now. If your device can play them, you simply just have to test it by playing them.
