V for Vendetta

Post by Digital moe »

Anyone tried V for Vendetta yet? Lots of problems getting my drive to detect the disc, lots of cleaning and still only once in 10 attempts will the drive acknowledge a disc in the drive.

When it does recognise the disc I see errors like:

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID COMMAND OPERATION CODE' occurred while issuing SCSI command 4602010D0..010 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while issuing SCSI command 280..001 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'

Eventually it ends with this:

Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive

Was able to rip mine just fine. Appreciate whoever sent the dumps in on this one.

I've having similar trouble with my drive as well (ASUS BW-16D1HT firmware 3.10). It takes quite a few attempts for the drive to recognize that the disc is inserted.

EDIT: After quite a few more reinserts, it's able to detect the disc and proceed much further than before (without making weird noises!)

Looks like I need to update my drive to 3.10, currently on .02 and seem to be getting more and more problematic discs.

I got this one to rip either on one of my LG WH16NS40 (firmware 1.02 I think) or on one of my ASUS BW-16D1HT drives that I think was on older firmware (3.03 I think).

So upgraded last night and the first attempt failed, couldn't read a particular sector when loading the list of titles. Cleaned it again (3rd time since I had the disc) and then magically I got it to read and rip, still took a long time to be recognised by the drive but it got their in the end.

Same firmware manage to get me to make an encrypted back up of the new UK Parasite disc which also kept failing before.
