AACS v82 decrypt failure: dump attached

#1 Post by spinout » Sat Jun 28, 2025 6:37 pm

Hello, long time user. Very recently released Blu-ray disc can't be decrypted from AACS v82. Dump file attached. Just updated to MakeMKV 1.18.1.

Also oddly am getting the following error while attempting to open the disc:

Code: Select all

Downloading latest HK to /Users/<mylogin>/Library/MakeMKV ...
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
Do I need to do/check something to enable auto HK downloading; is the message indicating a problem? I checked in my Library/MakeMKV folder and there is no keys.cfg or similar file there. Internet access for online updates is enabled.

Have you tried downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?

Thank you MrPenguin -- that solved it for me and the Blu-ray is copying successfully.
