#1 Post by leelhrsf0 » Mon Mar 10, 2025 1:41 pm

Hi there, I keep getting a message
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Has anyone else have this issue?
I have attached the tgz file

Also: Protection: AACS2.0/C v77

Thank you

When MakeMKV encounters a 4K UHD that it doesn't have a Hashed Key to decrypt it, MakeMKV shows that message and produces a dump file. When this happens, you should post on the forum as you've done (although the UHD discs section is more appropriate than the blu-ray discs section) and email that dump to svq@makemkv.com. Emailing the dump ensures that a hashed key will be produced.

Additionally, either attaching the file here or more preferably, putting it somewhere on the internet and posting a link to download it will help the good folks that run the alternative keydb.cfg so that a key can be added to that database of keys as well.

Would you also happen to have a UHD drive that isn't a Verbatim 43888 please?
