TCAB_271A Blu-ray: AACS v82 – Volume key missing

Post by leekim »

Dear MakeMKV Support and Community,

I encountered an issue while trying to back up a Blu-ray disc using MakeMKV v1.18.1 on macOS. This is the first time I’ve run into this particular problem — the disc appears to use a newer AACS version (v82), and the volume key isn’t available in the current key database.

Disc Information
Disc Label: TCAB_271A

AACS Version: v82

Drive Model: MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ135AS 1.01 (MacBook Air internal drive)

MakeMKV Log Snippet:

swift

This disc uses newer version of AACS protection.
Saved AACS dump file: /Users/asuka/Library/MakeMKV/MKB_v82_TCAB_271A_5E72.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
What I’ve Done So Far
I saved the AACS dump file as prompted by MakeMKV.

Uploaded the dump via this link.

(Optional) Attached full log file if needed.

Request
Would it be possible to add the volume key for this disc (TCAB_271A) to the public KEYDB.cfg?
Also, I’d appreciate it if I could be notified once the key becomes available or if there's a workaround in the meantime.

Thanks again to the MakeMKV team and community for your continued support!
Best regards,
LEE

Thank you very much for your assistance. I was able to successfully open TCAB_271A.
However, I'm currently having trouble accessing TCAB_271B, as it cannot be opened at this time.
If it's not too much trouble, could you kindly provide the relevant KeyDB information for TCAB_271B as well?
I truly appreciate your continued support and assistance.

This dump file looks incorrect:

Code: Select all

003006:0000 Opening files on harddrive at file:///Volumes/TCAB_271B
You cannot manually copy the BluRay to your harddrive, and then ask MakeMKV to open the copy. You need either to ask MakeMKV to open the BluRay directly, or use MakeMKV to create a back-up of the BluRay and then open the back-up.
