Hello,
I just got a new blu-ray disc (Pink Floyd At Pompeii 2025) and wanted to backup the disc using makemkv. But my blu-ray drive (LG WH14NS40) won't even read the disc. It reads all other blu-rays, CDs, DVDs I have. Any idea why it won't read the disc?

Give the disc a good wipe with a microfiber cloth before trying again.
Cheers

It plays ok in my standalone Oppo BD player though.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 12:10 amGive the disc a good wipe with a microfiber cloth before trying again.

Try updating MakeMkv first (version 1.18.1, I think, as of today), then try Pompeii again. The program recognizes the disc and that there is "new" AACS protection, but it also downloaded a new HK and I was still able to both rip and fully backup my Bluray copy (both methods). My drive: ASUS BW-16D1X-U. Best of luck!

That's the first thing I did, updated MakeMkv. It doesn't even show in windows explorer. I can hear the BD drive making some noises for a while as if it trying to read it but nothing, MakeMkv says no disc. It reads "The Dark Side of the Moon" and "Animals" blu-ray which is from last year.kanzacs68 wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 1:03 amTry updating MakeMkv first (version 1.18.1, I think, as of today), then try Pompeii again. I am sorry to hear this still didn't work. I guess the issue is hardware-based after all, as lots of people are having the same problem with the new encryption standards. If the mods will allow, I'd be happy to share my BD rip with you! I kept the stereo track (concert part) only, in 24/96 flac. I reinstalled MakeMKV on my Windows 11 laptop. I still get that error message when I try to rip. I get this message
"This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com/a/?L0Xa0xwJBl9O+C..."
I reported this to MakeMKV.

Seems like problem with my LG WH14NS40. Somehow doesn't like this disc. Anybody else has issues with LG WH14NS40 with newer blu-rays?
