Unfortunately it doesn't work the way I would like it to.
I just want to select a folder and the movie should be played with menus.
Unfortunately VLC fails here.
If this would also work from the TV
it would be great.

I have tried it with backups and MKVs.
The OS is Endeavouros Linux.

Man! You are a mess! What you post has no reference to VLC or Makemkv. I guess what you posted is in reference to Makemkv. HAVE YOU READ WHAT I POSTED. If you click the big drive symbol you can't do backup to folder anymore (greyed out). Please be more specific and upload pictures. imgur is a good source to do so. But I assume you will fail to get this running with your very limited capabilities.
