I will have to wait for Asmcom reply here about what is going on.

Everything from my side worked fine even if it was a bit tricky, paypal was smooth. Usually shopping international is painful even if you buy from a large online place like say SCAN UK | PC components and online computer shop - they don't ship to Europe. Yes, well I don't know what he had in stock from the start, there was no mention of total amount of units. I could buy the XD07 clam shell version, I don't need the XD08 but because the system said it was in stock I wanted that one.

I wonder if any of the ASUS BW-16D1HT are pioneer drives (212T), probably not but who knows ?

For context for those wondering wth is going on, I have just received an email informing me that during the final testing the drive failed to power on, and to quote the mail :


"We have since been advised by Pioneer that this batch of 10 × BDR-XD08EMB-S drives should not have been supplied to us and has now been withdrawn."

Had a reply from Asmcom - the drives include a power supply.

@Subsonic you don't say, if that is the case I am happy Asmcom is testing the drives and if they fail I have NO problems with that. We all want working equipment. I hope Asmcom can get refund if a batch of drives where dead on arrival. He is putting in a lot of work for us, could not ask for better service and dedication to the hardware and this forum.

Ah thx that makes sense. Strange though that I didn't get that Email yet, although Idk how many he has to send out...

What is strange though that I did not get any confirmation Emaol after placing an order for an XS07TS model either... I hope that one actually went through.

I just tried placing an order for one of the cheaper drives still showing as "10+ in stock" and didn't receive a payment link email at all, so something must have gone wrong with the website behind the scenes, yeah.
