Great! Do I need to do anything to reserve one, so that they don’t run out, or the email request I sent will be enough?

Thank you!

Hi @asmcom sorry for insisting, when you open the website will you have stock of item 19? If you have it, it will reassure me, I didn't know you were still preparing the website.

I'm looking for a Pioneer drive which is both MakeMKV UHD friendly and is a good drive for ripping CDs. I currently have an LG BU40N in a Vantec enclosure, which is great for ripping UHDs, but is completely useless for CDs as the error correction seems to be non-existent.

Therefore, to maximise CD ripping ability, I've narrowed the choice down to two PureRead 4+ drives - either the BDR-X13E-S or the BDR-XD08EMB-S.

Apart from pure read/write speeds, does the X13E-S have any other advantages over the much more compact and practical XD08EMB-S?

My only reservation with these drives is whether PureRead 4+ has any real-world advantages over PureRead 3+ for CDs. If not, I could consider some cheaper options.

Thanks in advance to anybody that can answer my queries.

Hello, I'm looking to grab something for ripping a large 4k library using a 2-in-1 laptop. I was looking at the Verbatim 43888 due to its price, and working out the box, but having seen these are now arriving with LG drives i'd prefer to avoid hassle of needing to then flash it myself.
Would you be able to make a recommendation for a simple to use drive for this purpose and confirm pricing? I wasn't sure where they link to your shop was and cant find your ebay store. Many thanks, Tom

Well, I just received another Verbatim 43888 with an LG drive instead of a Pioneer. This drive was ordered from amazon.de :( :( :(

@asmcom

Also, I was wondering if the Pioneer BDR-X13E-S has a switching power supply (100-240V) or is the power adapter set to a region specific voltage? I am in the US. I would like to use this USB-B to USB-C cable:

Could I perhaps power it through just a USB-C port (MacBook Pro). I am guessing not, but thought I’d still ask.
Thank you!

you can charge/power most DC things by using a usb-c power delivery cable like this
https://www.adafruit.com/product/5450
and maybe an adapter head like this
https://www.adafruit.com/product/5474
but it requires the power source supports the voltage and the nessasary amount of amps
sorry to say but your mac probably doesn't, your phone charger might however
things to be aware of, it needs to be correct voltage, (it should be listed on the device)
the power poles need to match (there is usually a symbol on the power input showing which end piece and what polarity it need)
